Association Of Flight Attendant Mission Statement

AFA-CWA’s mission is to unite all professional flight attendants in order to achieve fair compensation, job security, seniority protections, and improved quality of life through organizing, bargaining and political action while serving as the leading voice for a safe, healthy and secure aircraft cabin for passengers and crew alike.

Council 83

The Master Executive Council (MEC) is the chief governing body for the members on that airline. It functions as a coordinating Council for those members and addresses issues that are identified by the Local Council at that airline.
The Local Executive Council (LEC) is the set of officers elected by the membership of the Local Council. They are responsible for the proper management of the affairs and business of its Local Council.
The Local Council is any group of Flight Attendants assigned to a domicile.
Here at Silver Airways, we operate as a single council airline. We are Council 83. In such a structure, the Local Executive Council (Local Council Officers) also serve as the Master Executive Council. It is possible for an airline to have more than one crew domicile but only one Local Council based on the size of the carrier and the domiciles.
